A city unlike any other in the world, Colombia’s capital city Bogotá is the FIRST STOP of my FIRST VISIT to Colombia! And what does one do in Bogotá during a 36 hour visit?
My sister gave us a VIP tour and brought us to the beautiful Catedral de Sal de Zipaquirá, an underground Roman Catholic church built within the tunnels of a salt mine 200 meters underground. This cathedral within a salt mine is unlike anything I’ve ever seen before, complete with dazzling colors, architectural pieces, and even a light show! The Salt Cathedral is located in Zipaquirá, just north of Bogotá.
The Colombia journey has only just begun! After a short stay in Bogotá, we head to Salento, an Andean town in Colombia located within the coffee region.
